Overdose "Scars"

If you're like me, you were so into Sepultura as a teenager that you sat in bed at night and wondered, "What the fuck ever happened to Jairo from Bestial Devastation? It must really suck to be that dude..." We'll it seems that he continued on with his other band Overdose and rode that train into relative obscurity. There are actually alot of similarities between the two bands, though to be fair maybe he always wrote riffs that sounded like Sepultura. Not many people ever like these guys. I for one thought that they were pretty fucking good. This is by far their best album, as it's basically their version of "Chaos A.D." with more of Meshuggah guitar thing going on and vocals that kinda sound like a mix of Max and Derrick Green era Sepultura...

warrior soul - drugs, god and the new republic

my chess coach (yeah...i'm one of those people) turned me onto this album back in my sophomore year of high school

i'd totally forgot about this band/album until i'd come across it whilst perusing the internets the other night

listening to it back then...it sounded like that stuff coming out of seattle called "grunge" (the band was from new york)

but now...it sounds like a mixture of jane's addiction and blind melon and alice in chains and...

actually...just go with "grunge"

and for all you joy divison fans out there...they cover the song "interzone"

so a little something for everyone

The Room (2003)

Famous for being arguably the worst film ever. Yeah... That should get you to waste some bandwidth on it.

Sepultura

As a kid, I was really into Metallica's "...And Justice For All" and everything before it. I got the "Black Album" and knew that it was the beginning of something awful. So one day, I found Sepultura "Beneath The Remains" in a cd store and took a chance (this was before the internet so I had to purchase it blindly and hope that I didn't just throw away my money). Anyway, they quickly became one of my favorite "new bands" and I eventually went back and purchased their entire catalog. Then one day Roots came out...and all I can say is "Why!"

Sublime Bootlegs

So once upon a time, I went to see the remaining members of Sublime play a show in Chattanooga, TN(performing minus Brad, who had just died). During their set they played a shit ton on Minor Threat/Sublime/Fishbone/Descendents covers and we just happened to be in the front row and know all of the words to everything. After the show I handed Eric a cd of my band which was called CrankSanatra. He looked at it for a few seconds and asked me "Crank...Sanatra? So...where's it at?". So we called some scumbag friends and hooked them up. Which led to all of us ending up on their bus for about 8 hours and consuming every drug imaginable while the band members took turns running a train on this chick that our drummer was trying to date. I got to drink about 30 of their beers, play Eric Wilsons green Fender Bass as well as his Dan Armstrong Ampeg bass, and listen to them talk about how much they hated "Lou Dog". We also witnessed their new singer Ras, wear a Travis Tritt style suede, tassel jacket and serenade confused passersby with bad renditions of Steve Miller songs. Oh, and there was a homeless guy who kept telling us that he was a touring guitarist for Tesla, which was actually probably true...

Blind Melon "Soup"

If you love things like Led Zeppelin "III", Black Sabbath "Master Of Reality", and Pink Floyd "Animals" mixed with some New Orleans style jazz...then you should d/l this and wonder why their first album sucked so much.

"Eerie Indiana" Pilot Episode

A weird, short lived TV series that was basically a mix of Twilight Zone, Are You Afraid Of The Dark, and X-Files. This is the pilot episode that was directed by Joe Dante. In it, the main character's family has just moved into town and their neighbor is pimping some tupperware product called "Foreverware" that supposedly keeps food fresh forever...oh, and people too. I used to fucking love this show.

OGDRED WEARY*

So,I'm having to omit the real title so that the "Ogdred Weary" Society Douches don't make me delete this post. Without this guy and Charles Addams pretty there would be no Tim Burton. Complete with the children's alphabet represented by a child of every letter, and their untimely demise.

First off, the "Fuck World Trade" cd art is the greatest cd cover of all time. Secondly, this is what the Dead Kennedys would sound like if they were a ska/blackmetal/punk band.
